
Much awaited Beijing Olympic Games will kick off on 8th August, 2008 and city is making great preparations for the grand event. As a part of preparation, Beijing Capital International Airport’s third terminal (T3) was unveiled at Beijing Capital International Airport.
Designed by British architect Norman Foster, it’s a multibillion-dollar airport terminal that is fitted with a state-of-the-art-baggage handling system, a rail terminal and a runway capable of handling Airbus’ huge A380 superjumbo.
The terminal which will be opened for testing in February will be the single largest airport terminal in the world with an advanced, computerized management system and a major gateway for international visitors to take part in the 2008 Olympic Games.
