For spelunkers looking for a new adventure, the caves of Lloilo should be a great place. The Lloilo province is a part of Philippines located in the south east part of Panay island. The dwellers of the fourth class town are proud of the caves, which are their assets.

The outdoor assets provide visitors with an array of activities. What kind of stuff does this area offer? Well, check out the open secret of the area: twin-waterfall of Barasalon Cave in Janiuay; Rafflesia. Approach to these wild places can only be done on foot. So hiking is the fun part of the visit.

Lloilos rich and diverse environment is clearly evident from the caves as well as rock formations. Limestone rock formations loom all around the place and is very fascinating indeed.

Just imagine that you will have caves on one side, unique rock structures on the other. Yet another uniqueness is the white sand bar beach. Located in the fourth class town of Dingle (36 Kilometers away from the city of Lloilo), is the Bulabog Puti-an: an unique National park.

The National park has about 13 known and popular caves. The caves are unique because none of them are identical. They have their separate passage ways, shapes and sizes. I don’t think any two caves in this region are alike. The most popular are Mistranza cave, and Guiso cave. With Dingle being traversed by a river and about seven creeks, it is quite natural for all these cave formations to occur.

Besides the caves, one can also take a look at the trees of the region. The trees found here are mostly old/ ancient in nature. I think the area being home to the old growth forest, is a great place to study some unique flora and fauna. So, if you are spelunker and care for caves, come on down to Philippines.
