For many westerners as well as easterners, Dubai has become the city of dreams. Coupled with the oil rich economy and the unique location, Dubai has become a vacation hotspot for people from all over the world. Just like America, everything in Dubai is modernized, renovated and westernized. From indoor ski slopes to waterslides, Dubai offers pretty much everything for your relaxation .

Dubai has changed a lot over the years and the following are a must-see for the visiting tourists:

· Unique Burj Al Arab hotel, which is known for it’s sunset cocktails.

This particular hotel looks like a sail. From the stories that I personally heard from people who visited Dubai, this hotel looks great at night especially with all the lighting on the outside.

· Indoor ski slopes inside the American style shopping malls.

If you are ready for some downhill fun, this is the place to check out. India, just like Dubai should have created some indoor ski slopes like these.

· A day at the Wild Wadi water park

· Waterfront restaurants and bars.

· Al Boom Tourist Village

· Al Fahidi fort

· The unique cab drivers who are roaming around the city in their Mercedes Benz and Nokia N95 mobile phones. Of course, these are stories that I have heard from my friends who have been in Dubai: the land of the rich and prosperous .

Even with all the man made beauties, Dubai looses it charm sometimes, because of the prayers. Although, I have nothing against it, but the Muslim religion can make Dubai loose it’s wannabe western charm.

The prayer calls from various mosques can throw a visitor off . Dubai being a predominantly Muslim country, tourists will see a lot of praying. For people from other religions, this might be a little weird. Nonetheless, the prayers add to the uniqueness of the city.

Irrespective of the orthodox religion, I think Dubai is probably one of the best place to go for a holiday. If you are up for seeing a blend in eastern and western cultures, Dubai is most definitely the place to be. You can also take a sneak peak in the private lives of Bedouins.

So, please do yourself a favor and get yourself a ticket to Dubai on your next vacation. I am sure that you won’t regret it.
