These can be referred to as the two poles of China since Heilongjiang is the north and Hainan is in the south. They were the preferred destinations by tourists during the Spring Festival holidays in 2007.
Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, was very crowded the city’s two famous tourist attractions, Sun Island and the Yabuli skiing resort, received 15,400 and 20,000 visitors respectively on Wednesday. Harbin is well known for its beautiful snow sculptures the world over.

In Haikou, Hainan province, 82.4% of hotel rooms were reserved as of Wednesday, while the figure in Sanya, another tourism destination in the province well known for splendid scenery alongside the beach, reached 87.1%. Hainan’s tropical location guarantees warm weather year round. With 1,500km, (930 miles) of coastline and 300 days of sunshine per year, no wonder it’s a prefered destination.
