The huge event, taking place between July 4th and August 12th, allures large numbers of people to Hong Kong each year for a range of music, ballet, drama, film, dance and puppetry performances in venues across the region.

The carnival is primarily aimed at attracting families and children, as it provides much to see and do for adults as well as children.

Tourists coming to Hong Kong can catch up with a striking opening show this year as the Guangdong Acrobatic Troupe of China puts on its own rendering of the classic ballet Swan Lake.

Also included are shows like a popular sensory installation involving the transformation of a carpet into a magical garden, a musical about a boy and his discovery of a pair of red boots with special powers and a number of puppet performances engineered to captivate people from all age groups.

If you are hooked and Hong Kong seems the ideal get-away for you and your family, then get going. You can check out the International Arts Carnival website here!
