I am always a little skeptical and curious about Chinese Diners and their ways of serving meals. For a country who calls duck a Chinese turkey, what more can you expect? The latest trend in Chinese cuisine and dining are the theme restaurants. Some of them are designed like a jail, while others serve food on a hospital bed or even in a restroom environment. How weird? For the Chinese, it’s not that fascinating as they are used to eating insects for a meal. So, the hospital themed restaurant in Taipei fits the Chinese taste. About 10 people can sit around a hospital bed in this particular diner and ‘enjoy’ their meal while being served by waitresses dressed up as nurses. Beware! I am talking about promiscuous nurses. The vat suspended from the ceiling will keep a steady supply of beverage! If you are not a big fan of eating around a hospital bed, you can try the jail setting. You can have a meal along with a crazy inmate who has the license to cuff you. During your meal, the doors will be closed, shutting off from the outside world. This gives the diners visiting the jail an idea of life inside the dungeon. This will hopefully change your robbery or crime plans if you have one in mind! The jail restaurant can be found in Beijing as well. It is mostly popular as Zen cool. The last one on the list is the Taipei restaurant called The Marton. This one amazingly has the restroom theme. You might get a soup preparation served in a toilet bowl. Although this sounds pretty disgusting, the Marton is planning to open up second restaurant just to keep up with the customers. I think these themes are crazy. Probably the Chinese are the only ones who can come up with ideas like these.
