Singapore is making good efforts to spruce up its tourist appeal. As a part of this drive to attract more tourists, the city plans to open the world’s tallest Ferris wheel. Named the Singapore Flyer, it’s a 165 meters (545 feet) high Ferris wheel that will feature 28 bus-sized fixed “capsules” to accommodate up to 28 people.
The Singapore Flyer is Bollen’s Singapore-based company’s project, which is worth about 240 million Singapore dollars, backed mainly by German investors and is set to be located on the Singapore waterfront across from the Marina Bay Sands casino complex and near the pit area of a Formula One Grand Prix street race to be held for the first time in 2008.
Passengers will have to shell 29.50 Singapore dollars (food and drinks included) to get a 360-degree view of up to 45 kilometers across the island republic and into neighboring Malaysia and Indonesia. Each ride on the flyer will last about 37 minutes. So, if you wish to get the feeling of being on top of the world, take a ride on this upcoming tallest Flyer.
